W... W... W... Wednesdays ~ June 12, 2013

W... W... W... Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB of Should be Reading. To play along, just answer the following questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you'll read next?

What am I currently reading?  I am currently reading A Fair Prospect: Darcy's Dilemma by Cassandra Grafton. I love spending time with Elizabeth and Darcy!

What did I recently finish reading?  This week I finished reading Lady Harriette by P.O. Dixon. I enjoyed reading it. I love Colonel Fitzwilliam! I also read The Rules of Engagement by Jillian Leigh. This was a fun read. I laughed out loud a few times.

What do I think I'll be reading next? My plan is to read A Fair Prospect: Desperate Measures (Vol. III) by Cassandra Grafton. I hear there is a nice cliff-hanger at the end of Darcy's Dilemma ...so, I'm most likely going to read it right after. I read so many of these Pride and Prejudice variations that I sometimes get them mix up in my head. I had to go back and review Vol. I, Disappointed Hopes (my review) before I started Darcy's Dilemma

What are you reading?

  1. I'm always scared of Jane Austen retellings. I've read some horrible ones :-) Glad these are good.

    1. Hi Gwynneth! True, they are not all good, but I'm a such a huge P&P fan that I love a lot of them! LOL.

  3. I think I need to bump up Pride and Prejudice on my TBR list. I have heard so many great things about it. Thanks for sharing!

  4. Hi Candy!

Well I read Lady Harriette too. I liked it better than I thought I would because I had my doubts about Lady H, but she was fine. I generally like Colonel Fitzwilliam in Austenesque variations but I am not so keen on him in this series. I don't dislike him but I don't really like him either, his secrecy would be annoying in a husband, especially to somebody of Harriette's temperament. Having said that, I loved the part when Lady H is in disguise and she thinks Colonel Fitz hasn't recognised her and she is drawing conclusions about her husband that are way off the mark, it was so funny!

After that I read Bluebells in the Mourning by Karalynne Mackrory and I just LOVED it, how romantic!

Then I meant to read something modern, because if I read too many new Austen-inspired Regency novels together I find myself getting confused about what happened in which book and I blend them together. But then I bought the new Abigail Reynolds book and to stop myself from diving into it before the Austenesque Reviews group read I distracted myself by re-reading one of her old ones :)

So next I will either read book 2 of the Good Principles series by Maria Grace, or something modern. Happy reading!

    1. Hi Ceri! I agree with you about Col F. He does have a lot of secrets, and with a wife like Lady H, he should be more open!! LOL! I loved when Lady H was in disguise too! Hilarious! I still have to write my review.

Yay! I'm so glad you loved Bluebells too!

I'm looking forward to the AR group read too. It's going to be hard, but I'm going to try to read it with the group. Argh! I know myself, when I start I won't be able to stop!

    2. I am the same, I can resist starting it in the first place, but not sure I'll be able to stop once I begin. If I had a paperback I'd definitely 'accidentally' peep further on, hopefully I can control myself better with the kindle, takes more of an effort to peep ahead!

  5. Since I just read the two bokks preceding it, my next read will probably be Lady Harriette. I also have Molly Harper's A Witch's Book of Kisses and Curses waiting for me at the library. She writes really funny, snarky paranormal romance. I hope I like this one as much as her 'Nice Girls' series. We'll see!

I may end up reading Abigail's new one a little early. I'll be visiting family during the start of the group read and I don't want to get left behind! lol

    1. Ha! I don't think you'll get left behind! Wait...I just re-read Meredith's post, it doesn't look like we are reading it in sections. So, we just need to have it read it between the 21st and the 24th? Ok, I can do that. :)

I don't know 'A Witch's Book of Kisses and Curses' I should look that up! :)

    2. I thought we were supposed to read the first section by the 24th. All will become clear on the 21st when she posts about it, I suppose :)

    3. I sent a text to Jakki this morning. She said it will be broken into 3 sections. Meredith should post a schedule soon. :)
