W... W... W... Wednesdays ~ October 30, 2013

W... W... W... Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB of Should be Reading. To play along, just answer the following questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you'll read next?

What am I currently reading? I am currently reading Hopeless by Colleen Hoover. I'm loving it! I'm really enjoying this genre. It's edgy, fast-paced and emotional.

What did I recently finish reading?
I finished reading Project Darcy by Jane Odiwe. This was a fun read! I really enjoyed Ellie slipping back in time. I also enjoyed all the parallels to Pride and Prejudice of all the characters in the present day story.

I also read Almost Persuaded: Miss Mary King by P.O. Dixon. I enjoyed getting to know Miss King and finding out how she was almost persuaded by Wickham! ;) This is a short story, so it's a quick read.

What do I think I'll be reading next? I just got The Subsequent Proposal by Joana Starnes so I may read this. From what I understand, there are characters from both Pride and Prejudice and Persuasion in this! I can't wait to see how this will turn out!

What are you reading? I'd love to hear from you!

    1. Hi Elizabeth! 'Almost Persuaded' was a fun read. I read most of it soaking in a hot bath. Nice!

  3. I also read Almost Persuaded and loved it but to be honest I pretty much love all of P.O. Dixon's work.

I cannot wait to read The Subsequent Proposal; sounds delightful. Persuasion is my second favorite book of Jane Austen.

    Thanks,
    Liz

    1. Hi Liz! I feel the same way about P.O. Dixon's books!

Persuasion is my second favorite of Austen's too. It will be fun to see Anne and Wentworth in P&P.

      Thanks for stopping by!

  4. I just noticed The Subsequent Proposal on Amazon for the first time the other day. It looks really good - and it's a crossover! I was anxious for a moment, reading the blurb/reviews, that it wouldn't be a D&E HEA but then I was like nah! Joana wouldn't do us like that, right? lol

I last read Winning a Bride, a novella by Jade Lee, and it was pretty good. I still plan to read Maire Claremont's Lady in Red next, though I've been so busy with packing things up.

    1. Hey Monica! LOL! I had the same reaction when I read the blurb too! I thought NO! Darcy cannot in up with Anne! That would be so wrong! haha! But Joana assured me this is not the case. Elizabeth and Darcy will have their happy ending! :) Whew!

I hope your move goes smoothly!

  5. Do you like Jade Lee's books, Monica? They sound good. Let me know how Lady in Red is.
Candy, I'm so envious of how much you get to read. If only I had no responsibilities & could just read all day every day, maybe I'd catch up. ;)
Looking forward to your review of Almost Persuaded. I will be reading Jane's new book in December.

    1. Hey Jakki! LOL! Oh, how I wish I had more time to read! Yes, wouldn't a maid and cook be fantastic?! That would free up a lot of time! ;) We can dream...

  6. I'm so very excited to read both Jane and Joana's books! So glad you enjoyed Project Darcy! We are going away for a little trip this weekend and I plan on bringing some books on the flight! I just finished The Silent Governess (not Austenesque, but wonderful historical romance) and loved it! Have you ever read any Julie Klassen novels?

    1. Hi Meredith! Yes, I have read The Silent Governess! It was good! I read it a few years ago, when it first came out. I should do a reread! I also have The Apothecary's Daughter, but I haven't read that one yet.

I'm sure you're going to love Project Darcy! Have a wonderful trip!

  7. Jakki, this is the first book I've read by Jade Lee. I liked Winning A Bride; it was a bit tumultuous at the beginning because the H/h have a kind of love/hate relationship. The steamy scenes were great! lol (well, IMO).

Candy, I was reassured about The Subsequent Proposal last night by Joana's post (and giveaway!) at More Agreeably Engaged - she said no matter what craziness they go through, D&E always end up together. I was like whew! haha
