W... W... W... Wednesdays ~ June 11, 2014

W... W... W... Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB of Should be Reading. To play along, just answer the following questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you'll read next?

What am I currently reading?
I'm currently reading Pride and Persistence by Jeanna Ellsworth. I'm about a third of the way through and it's pretty good!  This Pride and Prejudice variation has a  "50 First Dates" thing going on, where Darcy has a head injury and doesn't remember proposing to Elizabeth, so he proposes again, then again and again! Funny.

What did I recently finish reading? I finished reading The Earl's Enticement by Collette Cameron. I loved it! I think it is Ms. Cameron's best work yet! I should have a review up in a couple of weeks.

What do I think I'll read next? I think I'm going to read One Last Blind Date by Erin Brady. I've read and enjoyed Ms. Brady's other books, The Holiday Gig (my review), The Shopping Swap (my review), and And the Winner Is... (my review), so I'm sure I'm going to enjoy her newest book!

What are you reading? I'd love to know!

  1. Hey there Candy! I'm currently reading Joanna Trollope's updated version of Sense and Sensibility. I started it months ago but the characters annoyed me so I put it to one side, but I'm trying to clear the decks this month so I started it again. It's ok, but it's not quite working for me. I think things needed to be changed more to make the behaviour plausible for a modern setting,

As for what's up next, I think probably a Pride and Prejudice variation, The Secrets of Darcy and Elizabeth by Victoria Kincaid. It has good reviews so hopefully will enjoy. Happy reading!

    1. Hi Ceri! Yeah, I remember when you started that. It's too bad it's not getting better for you. :/ It's not on my TBR pile, and it probably won't be.

Ooh! Yes, I want to read The Secrets of Darcy and Elizabeth too! I love the whole, Darcy and Elizabeth escaping together, having to rely on one another, storyline. Let me know what you think.

  2. Candy, I just started Mr. Darcy Presents His Bride by Helen Halstead and will follow it with Pirates and Prejudice by Kara Louise for the millionth time. My TBR pile is huge and tumbled over last night while we slept. Scared me! Time to get it read down.

    1. Hi Joy! I read that so long ago that I don't remember how I liked it! Amazon says I purchase it in '08. I'm so glad Amazon remembers these things for me! A few times I've gone to buy (more like download for free) and Amazon kindly tells me I already have it! ;) It was also before I started reviewing books. I'm going to have to re-read it....someday. Sequels are not my favorite though. Variations. Variations are my favorite.

I loved Pirates and Prejudice! I've only read it once though. Anymore, I have so much to read, I don't have time to reread anything! I used to reread Pemberley's Promise (Darcy's Voyage) all the time, while I was waiting for the next Pride and Prejudice variation to be published. It always felt like it took forever! LOL!

Oh! That's funny! My TBR pile is large too, but I have it spread out. After experiencing my first earthquake in April, I spread them out. Amazingly though, none of my books fell. My husband was always giving me a hard time about my bookcases. Saying they would fall over. I was very happy they didn't, but I think I got lucky!
