I loved Triumph and Treasure! As always, Collette Cameron delivers a fast-paced, action-packed, Regency romance novel with many twists and turns!

Only hours after getting married, Angelina learns the man she married is not whom he says he is, not only that, but he’s already married! Angry, embarrassed and utterly ruined, Lina cannot go home! Boarding a ship, she leaves Massachusetts and sails to England for a lengthy visit with her Aunt Camille and Uncle Ambrose, the Duke of Waterford. Vowing never to trust a man again!

But while in England, Lina finds her uncle has other plans for her. The Duke is not happy with Lina’s situation, and, through devious ways, finds a new husband for her.

Flynn, the Earl of Luxmoore, is being blackmailed by the Duke of Waterford to marry his niece. Before his death, Flynn’s father gambled and lost the family fortune to the Duke. Now Flynn is responsible for his father’s debt. The Duke offers Flynn two choices, marry Lina and the debt would be forgiven or have no way to support his ailing mother, invalid sister, and elderly grandmother. Flynn is desperately trying to find another way out of this mess...until he meets Lina. There is something about her that tugs at his heart, and he quickly feels the need to protect her too.

I love Ms. Cameron’s characters! The chemistry and sexual tension between Flynn and Lina are wonderful! I love how caring and loyal Flynn is, not only with Lina, but with his mom, sister, and grandmother.

I also love how Ms. Cameron has threaded characters from her previous stories into this one. For example, Flynn is related to the Craiglocky Clan, from the Castle Brides series.

After being fooled by a man whom she thought she loved, Lina begins making a mental list of rules to avoid falling into a trap like that again.  I got a kick out of all of her rules. Some of them had me chuckling!

I really enjoyed Triumph and Treasure! The first in the Highland Heather Romancing a Scot Series, and I look forward to reading the next!

  2. Wonderful review, Candy. I have one of Colette's books on my Kindle, but it's on my TBR pile. She is a gifted writer that is dedicated to her craft. I'm part of her street team. I look forward to more of your reviews.

    2. Hi Joy! Lol! I always have to double check the spelling of names, because they can be spelt so many different ways! And I'm a horrible speller anyway!

Oh yes, Collette is a wonderful writer! She definitely knows how to keep a story moving! You just get swept up in them! This might be a silly question, but what is a street team?

    3. An author's street team is a collected group of fans that get the skinny on all new releases, get upcoming news before it is posted, takes part in giveaways, and offers support and beta advice to the writer. I really appreciate Collette's enthusiasm and the care that she gives her readers. She's 100% involved in her career and I wonder how she does it. Besides, she's a southern Oregon gal, practically a former neighbor if you count a county away. We are Collette's Chéris on Facebook.

  3. Love Collette's books, all of them!

I really did not see that coming, at the beginning, with her husband! When Collette sent me the ARC I knew it was about Flynn, and had read a couple excerpts but I hadn't read the official blurb & I didn't know what to expect.
