What are you Reading? ~ Sept. 30, 2015

What are you Reading? is my weekly Wednesday meme! You are welcome to join me, just answer the following questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you plan on reading next?

What am I currently reading? I am currently reading No More Tears by L. E. Smith, a Pride and Prejudice retelling. This is a re-read for me, but it's been so long that I don't remember a lot of what happens. I do remember that I loved it the first time I read it online. I have a paperback now. So far it's still good! :)

What did I recently finish reading? I finished reading 10 Years Later: A Second Chance Romance by J. Sterling. This was a good read! High school reunion stories are always fun, but this had a little more to it.

I also finished reading The 5th Wave: The First Book of the 5th Wave Series by Rick Yancey. I loved it! And because I had to know what happens next I had to purchase the second book in the series, The Infinite Sea. Can't wait to read it, too!

What do I plan on reading next? I'm not sure! I have been reading whatever I fancy lately. And it feels good! ;)

What am I currently reading? I'm currently reading
The 5th Wave: The First Book of the 5th Wave Series by Rick Yancy. It's really good! So far a page-turner!

What did I recently finish reading? I finished reading One Love - Two Hearts - Three Stories: A Pride & Prejudice Anthology by J. Dawn King. I really enjoyed this one! It was fun reading the three sweet stories.

I also read Edenbrooke by Julianne Donaldson. Oh, I loved it! I can't believe it took me so long to begin reading this one! I've had it sitting on my shelve for over three years, and I always have it on my TBR challenge lists and never would get to it! Boy, did I miss out! I could have read it a couple of times by now. ;)

What do I plan on reading next? At this point, I don't have a plan. I'm going to leave this open and see what I feel like when I get there! I still have plenty to read on my shelf!

Inspired by Grace by Jeanna Ellsworth ~ My Review

Inspired by Grace by Jeanna Ellsworth

Publication Date: May 15th, 2015
Publisher: Hey Lady Publications
Pages: 222
Received: paperback from the author
Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars

I loved Inspired by Grace by Jeanna Ellsworth! I found this sweet regency romance to be delightful! The story flowed nicely and kept me engaged!

As children, Gavin and Grace were the best of friends. They spent many of their summer days together, and when apart they would secretly exchange letters with the help of Gavin’s sister. But that all came to an abrupt end when the letters stopped, and Grace moved away. Both Grace and Gavin felt abandon by the other.

Ten years have passed, and Grace is back in London for the season. It's the hope of her sisters (now that her parents are gone) that she find a good match. Walking down the street Grace and Gavin, now the Duke of Huntsman, literally collide with each other in front of Gavin’s London home.

After finding out that Grace’s mother passed away three years earlier, Gavin’s mother offers to sponsor her, and the Duchess is determined to find Grace a husband. She also would like to find a wife for Gavin.

I adored watching Gavin and Grace as they renew their friendship. They certainly have more than a few misunderstandings to work through.

I found it amusing that Gavin had read Persuasion by Jane Austen, and he encourages Grace to read it, hoping she would see something similar to their situation.

I truly enjoyed Inspired by Grace! It’s definitely one of my favorites by Jeanna Ellsworth. Well done!

Yours Forevermore, Darcy Blog Tour + GIVEAWAY

Hey, Everyone!  I'm delighted to be part of the Yours Forevermore, Darcy Blog Tour! KaraLynne Mackrory is one of my favorite Austenesque authors! I think I've read every one of her books, and I'm totally looking forward to reading this new one, Yours Forevermore, Darcy!

When planning for this post, I asked KaraLynne a few questions, a couple of which were, "How do you juggle writing and being a mom? Do you have a special time to write?" Here was her response:

On Juggling Motherhood & Writing: A careful dance of dual neglect

I was asked to write about how I balance being both an author and a mother to a million kids. This is something that I have been asked before and something that I find is actually a pretty hard question. The answer is simple despite the difficulty of the question. I don’t.

I love writing. I find it relaxing and yet invigorating. It’s a sort of escapism that works well for me to relieve stress and make me happy. This has always been the case for me ever since I first wrote horrible poetry as an angsty teenager. (Man, it was so bad!) It does not matter if it is fiction or non-fiction writing; I always find joy in it.

Being a mother – sigh – now that, THAT is where I have found true happiness; even though I am not a natural born nurturer. In fact, I am one of those people that don’t take a lot of emotional drama from their kids or others. I cannot stand screaming, crying for attention, or emotional outbursts. Lydia and I would absolutely HATE each other. So happiness in motherhood? Where every day is full of those bipolar fits? Yup. Love it. My kids make me laugh and like Lizzy, I dearly love to laugh. They are inventive and amazing and their creativity is inspiring. They are also freakin’ adorable – which helps immensely, I tell you what. I would have to love being a mom or be crazy to have as many kids as I have. Scratch that – I fit both criteria.

What are you Reading? ~ September 16, 2015

What are you Reading? is my weekly Wednesday meme! You are welcome to join me, just answer the following questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you plan on reading next?

What am I currently reading? I'm currently reading One Love - Two Hearts - Three Stories: A Pride & Prejudice Anthology by J. Dawn King. This anthology consists of two novellas and one novel. I'm really enjoying them! I've read the first novella, and I'm almost finished with the novel.

What did I recently finish reading? I finished reading Shackled by Tom Leveen. Ooh! This was so good! It was so interesting to see the emotional mess of a girl who lost her best friend to stranger danger. Six years later she is still suffering from panic attacks and depression, and the guilt that it was Tara and not her that was taken from the mall that day. It was also full of mystery and suspense as she tries to find Tara without the help of the authorities.

What do I plan on reading next? That I do not know. Lol! I haven't been very good at actually reading the book I say I might, so I'll leave this open and let you know next week what I did read! :D

What are you Reading? ~ September 9, 2015

What are you Reading? is my weekly Wednesday meme! You are welcome to join me, just answer the following questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you plan on reading next?

What am I currently reading? I'm currently reading Shackled by Tom Leveen. So far this is really good! Pelly's best friend, Tara, went missing six years ago while they were playing hide and seek at the mall, and Pelly hasn't been able to function normally since. Panic attacks and depression have kept her housebound. She is done with doctors and meds, so she comes up with her own plan to become normal. One step is to work part time at a coffee shop. Which is going okay until the day a creepy man and a scrawny, greasy-haired girl walk into the coffee shop. Pelly is sure it's Tara but is too stunned to do anything. Now, she has to overcome her anxieties to find Tara.

What did I recently finish reading? I finished reading Emma Knows All by Laura Briggs and Sarah Burgess. This was really good! I loved the mesh of Emma and Pride and Prejudice! Hopefully, I'll have a review up soon! (Life is crazy busy lately!!)

What do I plan on reading next? I still want to read Fairest: The Lunar Chronicles: Levana's Story by Marissa Meyer. But anything can happen between now and next week! ;) I'll let you know!

What are you Reading? is my weekly Wednesday meme! You are welcome to join me, just answer the following questions:

What am I currently reading? I'm currently reading Emma Knows All by Laura Briggs and Sarah Burgess. It's good so far! I'm seeing a lot more Pride and Prejudice in this one than I had expected. I'm so curious to see how this is going to play out!

What did I recently finish reading? I finished reading  Daisies Are Forever by Liz Tolsma. This story was inspired by two women who actually lived in Germany during WWII and actually experienced many of the situations in the book. I enjoyed it.

What do I plan on reading next? I'm thinking,  Fairest: The Lunar Chronicles: Levana's Story by Marissa Meyer. I want to read this before Winter comes outs, which I'm super excited about!! Who's with me?! :D
