W... W... W... Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB of Should be Reading. To play along, just answer the following questions.
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you'll read next?
What am I currently reading? I'm currently reading The Persuasion of Miss Jane Austen by Shannon Winslow. Ooh! I can't wait to see how this is going to turn out! This line really entices me: "A Novel wherein she tells her own story of lost love, second chances, and finding her happy ending." I would love to see Jane's story turnout differently ...and that she would find love!
What did I recently finish reading? I finished reading The Giver by Lois Lowry. I really enjoyed this story. It did leave me with questions though, and I thought the ending was open to interpretations. Anyone else?
I also read Some Boysby Patty Blount. It was really good! When Grace is raped by the star of the lacrosse team at a party, nobody believes her. It's her word against his. Everyone thinks she's lying, even her best friends turn on her. Grace is a strong girl, amazing really. Even though, I did have a few issues with the story, I still thought it was a great read!
What do I think I'll read next? I'm not sure... FTC Disclaimer: Book links are to Amazon. I'm an Amazon Associate, and if you should purchase a copy of the book through the link provided, I will receive a small commission. Thanks! What are you reading?
I've been wondering about The Giver. I had never heard of it til pretty recently, when I saw people tweeting about some changes made for the movie version (which they were not happy about). Shannon Winslow's new book looks really good, too.
I am *still* working my way thru House of Aegea. It's never taken me this long to read a book before; kind of a unique experience. It'a good and I like it, but for some reason I can only read like 30 pgs at a time before I need to put it down again. I don't know. I just re-read Abigail Reynolds' Without Reserve and it was as lovely as I remember. Next I want to read Joy Dawn King's A Father's Sins and Sarah Johnson's Chosen vol 1. Sarah has a story coming out soon that I like very much called Just to Hear I Love You - about a deaf Mary & Colonel Fitzwilliam (just a head's up if you like that sort of thing). ;) I also still need to read Emma.
Hi Monica! Oh, it's been a busy day! I'm finally able to reply! Since school started I've been crazy busy. I hope I can manage to find time to work on that Shakespeare course we are signed up for!
Interesting about the Giver movie. I want to go see it, and now I'm curious about the changes. I hadn't heard about the book until my daughter wanted it last March or so. Then I found out it was going to be made into a movie. Did you know it was published in 1993?!
Oh wow! "Just to Hear I Love" you sounds interesting! ....Wait, you haven't read Emma! Lol! You better get after that! ;) A re-read of one of Abigail's book sounds nice!
Hi Kelly! How do you like His Uncle's Favorite? I loved it! Lord Matlock was a quirky old gentleman! So funny! I hope you get to read The Persuasion of Miss Jane Austen soon!
I loved Lord Matlock in His uncle's favourite too! I am so jealous I really want to read The Persuasion of Miss Jane Austen! I have been struggling with reading time :( But I have just finished Hope & Sensibility By Dixon and am now reading Pride & Persistence By Ellsworth. Happy reading :)
Hey Tamara! My summer is over and it seems like my reading time has gone with it! :( Hopefully, after we get into the swing of things, my reading will pick back up. I hope you enjoy Pride and Persistence!
