W... W...W... Wednesdays ~ Sept. 24th, 2014

W... W... W... Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB of Should be Reading. To play along, just answer the following questions.

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you'll read next?

What am I currently reading? I am currently reading
Short-Straw Bride (The Archer Brothers Book #1) by Karen Witemeyer. It's so good! I'm about half way now, and I love Meredith's spunk and determination!

What did I recently finish reading? I finished reading The Persuasion of Miss Jane Austen by Shannon Winslow. I loved this! Beautifully written! Oh, how I wish this could have been life for Jane, instead of being cut short at the age of 41.

What do I think I'll read next? I think I will start Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling. That's right...I've never read the series! I'm really looking forward to it!! I've just been afraid to start for fear I won't get anything else done! ;)

What are you reading?

  1. Don't feel bad, Candy, I've never read the Harry Potter books, either. It's one I kept saying "oh, I'll get around to it sometime..." lol

I finally finished House of Aegea! Been reading it since June. Next up I want to start reading some of the JAFF books I've won or was gifted recently - Chosen volume 1, A Father's Sins, Stronger Even Than Pride, Jane Austen's First Love... so many choices! Since this is Banned Book Week I'm thinking of also reading either Lady Chatterley's Lover or The Monk. They've both been on my shelf a long time and they caused quite an uproar in their day, I'm sure.

    Happy reading, friend!

    1. Hey Monica! Really?! I'm not alone! Lol! I'll let you know if you should get around to it sooner than later. ;) hehe

Wow! How was House of Aegea? I remembered that you were reading it. I have Stronger Even Than Pride and A Father's Sins to read also. I don't know when I'm going to get to them. With my limited reading time, I think it might take me a while to get through HP. I may have to take a break though, and read something between books. We'll see! I have Robin's second book, Sincerely Yours to read too.

Hmmm...Lady Chatterley's Lover does sound a bit racy! Is that why it's banned? I've never heard of either of them. I'll have to look them up.

Happy reading to you too! =)

    2. I think the sex is why Lady Chatterley's Lover was banned, it was classed as obscene. I think it's a good story actually.

  2. I am so surprised you've never read Harry Potter, I read the email and said 'Whaaaaaaaaat?!' I hope you enjoyed the Karen Witemeyer, I've really enjoyed all the books by her that I've read.

    1. Hi Ceri! I know, sad, isn't it. Really, I've never been interested before. Not even with the movies. My older kids weren't interested. It's wasn't until my fourth became obsessed with it...I thought I should give it a try. Plus, I was only interested in romances then, now I'm finding I love so much more! :) I'm growing. lol!

Oh, yes! I loved the Short-Straw Bride! Now, I want to read the next! :) Wish there was more time to read! ;)

    2. I read them after the first four came out after my mum recommended them to me. She was still teaching then and had read them after seeing how popular they were with the kids, the Harry Potter books got a lot kids reading who previously didn't enjoy it. She loaned me the books and I read them one after the other. This was pre-children so I had more reading time then!

    3. Yes, I bought the first one way back when, hoping to get my older boys interested in reading, but no such luck. :/ Fortunately, my youngest son really loves to read Rick Riordan's books. He has read the Percy Jackson series and is now reading The Heroes of Olympus series.
