The Twelve-Step Plan by Erin Brady ~ My Review

The Twelve-Step Plan by Erin Brady

Publication Date: February 3, 2015
Publisher: Price Publishing
Pages: 259
Received: E-copy from the author
Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

So, what’s the best way to get over an obsession? Face it head-on! Sadie has tried everything to get over her “crush” on Latin music star Xavier, X for short. Now she figures the only way around it is to meet him and make him fall in love with her! To make that happen, Sadie comes up with The Twelve-Step Plan!

College Professor Dr. Sadie Rollins is a smart woman. She’s always been so focused on school, always played it safe, never breaking the rules, and she's on the fast lane to get tenure at Preps College. After all that success, her dating life has been a failure. Now it seems she is done playing it safe and ready for a little "crazy!"

As Sadie puts her twelve-step plan into action, the fun begins! Even after all of Sadie’s well-laid plans, meeting X isn’t as easy as she had hoped, and Sadie finds herself in more than a few sticky (and humorous) situations.

Sadie’s obsession with X and the lengths she is willing to go to meet him seemed a little out there for me. For her to risk losing her job was a little hard for me to accept.

The Twelve-Step Plan is a fun, romantic comedy! I enjoy Ms. Brady’s sense of humor, and would recommend her stories to anyone who likes a clean, feel-good romance!

One Last Blind Date by Erin Brady ~ My Review

One Last Blind Date by Erin Brady

Publication Date: May 22nd, 2014
Publisher: Price Publishing

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

"Because when you've found the one, you know it....It's magical the first time you're with him." p. 102

Oh my! I just love One Last Blind Date! It’s a super cute, humorous, feel good story! It gave me the warm fuzzies, and I had to go back an re-read the ending again as soon as I finished! I needed to re-live it again right away!

For her 30th birthday, Sarah receives a membership to SoulMates4Everafter, an online dating service, by her best friend, Amy. Why do married people always think their single friends NEED to be married too? Not thrilled by the prospect, Sarah reluctantly agrees to giving it a try for at least three months. Having trouble just setting up her profile, Sarah calls for technical support. The IT guy, Gabriel, finds himself helping her out way more than his job description calls for, and somehow she’s managed to keep him on the phone for over 45 minutes. Then she weasels out the number for a direct line to him in case she has anymore questions…which, of course, she does.

Soon Sarah has Gabriel’s cell phone number and is calling him daily. They look over potential candidates for her future husband, discuss which ones she should date and then, after every date, she calls and tells him about it! They develop a beautiful friendship over the phone.

After the first few dates don’t go the way Sarah had hoped, she decides just to have some fun and quit looking for Mr. Right! Go on as many dates as she can and enjoy herself. I had to laugh at some of the situations that she finds herself in! But she does meet some interesting people, some of which become life long friends. Topher is my favorite, and even though he’s not husband material for her, they become close friends.

Many of the chapters are from Gabriel’s point of view, and he is falling for Sarah. But he’s been hurt by love before and doesn’t want to get hurt again, so he resists the feelings he has for Sarah. Instead, he will help her find the love of her life …if he can.

Sarah is also falling for Gabriel. She drops all sorts of hints, but since he doesn’t seem to pick up on any of them, she doesn’t think he’s interested in her. She is worried that once she quits the service she won’t have a reason to talk to Gabriel again. She is sad at the thought of not speaking to him again.

I loved One Last Blind Date! This romantic-comedy is a fun, quick read! Erin Brady has become one of my favorite writers! I love her fun, flirty romances! I think you should give this one a try!

For those who care to know, this is a clean romance.

What am I currently reading? I'm currently reading One Last Blind Date by Erin Brady. I just started it, but it looks like it's going to be a fun read.

What did I recently finish reading?
I finished reading Just One Thing by Holly Jacobs. It was good! It wasn't what I thought it was going to be. By the description and even the book cover, I thought it was going to be a light Contemporary Romance, but I would put it in the Women's Fiction category. Learning to get over loss, finding yourself and love again. I hope to have a review up soon. I'm so behind on writing reviews!

I also read We Are the Goldens by Dana Reinhardt. I enjoyed reading this YA story. It dealt was some interesting sister/teen issues.

What do I think I'll read next? I'm thinking about reading Matched by Ally Condie. =)

What am I currently reading?
I'm currently reading Pride and Persistence by Jeanna Ellsworth. I'm about a third of the way through and it's pretty good!  This Pride and Prejudice variation has a  "50 First Dates" thing going on, where Darcy has a head injury and doesn't remember proposing to Elizabeth, so he proposes again, then again and again! Funny.

What did I recently finish reading? I finished reading The Earl's Enticement by Collette Cameron. I loved it! I think it is Ms. Cameron's best work yet! I should have a review up in a couple of weeks.

What do I think I'll read next? I think I'm going to read One Last Blind Date by Erin Brady. I've read and enjoyed Ms. Brady's other books, The Holiday Gig (my review), The Shopping Swap (my review), and And the Winner Is... (my review), so I'm sure I'm going to enjoy her newest book!

What are you reading? I'd love to know!

The Holiday Gig by Erin Brady ~ My review

The Holiday Gig by Erin Brady

Publication Date: October 31, 2013
Publisher: Price Publishing
Pages: 256
Received: E-copy from author
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Once again, Erin Brady has delighted me with her new book, The Holiday Gig! It’s cute and fun, with a super hot hero! And the best part, it left me with a warm fuzzy feeling inside!

Taylor Barnes has worked so hard and is so close to her goal of becoming a partner in the high power law firm she works for. She logs in as many billable hours as she can, working through weekends and holidays.  Taylor is sure she has it in the bag when her boss, Mr. Wigs, drops a bomb in her lap, he makes it clear that he values not only hard work but that it is important for a partner in the firm to have a strong family life. A Family life?!...that is something Taylor does not have! She is too busy for a relationship, and she rarely visits her parents anymore. Taylor can’t tell Mr. Wigs there is no one special in her life. So, she makes up the perfect boyfriend, Tom Maguire! Now all she has to do is find him.

Taylor places an ad for a personal assistant. After interviewing several people, she picks Hunter Ryan for the job. But will he take the job when he finds out that the real job is to play the role of her “boyfriend” Tom Maguire?

Not only is Mr. Wigs insisting on meeting Tom, but her mother is also putting on the pressure for her to come home for the holidays. Her cousin and best friend, Melissa is getting married the day before Christmas, a big Christmas themed wedding, and her mother expects her to be there. In fact, she already RSVPed for Taylor, adding a plus one to the response card! Her mom's way of saying, "You need a man in your life." Hmmm... maybe a temporary boyfriend would come in handy.

I loved Hunter! Erin Brady knows how to write a handsome and swoon worthy hero! Hunter is smart, has a great sense of humor and is compassionate - he works at Higher Horizons, a children’s home. Hunter is an amazing man.

Hunter and Taylor are such opposites. She is so uptight; he is very laid back. She is all work and no play. Hunter likes to balance work and play. As they spend more time together, Hunter helps Taylor loosen up, to have fun, he shows her what’s important in life, but does she learn those lessons too late?

I loved The Holiday Gig! It is the perfect holiday read, but you don’t have to wait for the holidays to read it! It’s just right to read anytime, and one I would highly recommend!

I really enjoy Erin Brady's writing style. She is also the author of And The Winner Is... and The Shopping Swap.  You can read my reviews by clicking on the titles.
