What are you Reading? ~ Mar. 11, 2015

"What are you Reading?" is my weekly Wednesday meme! You are welcome to join me, just answer the following questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you'll be reading next?

What am I currently reading? I haven't been reading as much this week...my daughter came for a visit, and we were busy doing fun stuff like spending the day at Disneyland and going to an Anaheim Ducks ice hockey game!! Fun! Plus, I've been watching The Gilmore Girls on Netflix! I'm addicted! I just finished season one. :)

So, I'm still reading Seeker by Arwen Elys Dayton. It's good, but it hasn't hooked me yet. To be fair, I'm only about a third of the way through it.

What did I recently finish reading? I finished reading Green Card by Elizabeth Adams. I loved this book! I enjoyed reading it; it kept me engaged. I was caught up in their daily lives and the progression of their relationship. I would say that it's a low angst story. ~My review is coming soon!

What do I think I'll be reading next? Up next is All the Rage by Courtney Summers. It looks good!

So, what are you reading? Are you a Gilmore Girls fan, too?

  1. Hope you had a nice visit with your daughter!

I've watch a few Gilmore Girls and liked them.

I've seen mixed reviews on your The Seeker so it seems to be hit and miss with folks. Hope it ends up working for you.

    1. Hi Sophia Rose! I did! We had a blast! I'm so glad she decided to come out for a visit. She had some vacation days she needed to use up. Lucky me! :)

I had only watched a few Gilmore Girls late in the series myself. So, I'm really enjoying watching it from the beginning!

Yes, I've noticed that myself about The Seeker. I got it from NetGalley, and it was advertised for fans of The Hunger Games and Divergent (both of which I loved), but I don't think it's a dystopian. It seems more like a SciFi/Fantasy to me. So, that was a bit of a disappointment. I don't like fantasy as much as a dystopian, but maybe once I get into it a little more...and I do like the protagonist, Quin.

  2. Hi Candy! I recently read Green Card too, really enjoyed it, and then I followed that up with Henry Tilney's Diary by Amanda Grange, which I'm just putting together my review for now.

Next up will be 'The Darcy Madness' by S Nixon I think.

I've never seen Gilmore Girls, but as you say it's diverted you from your reading I think I will steer clear, I am already behind on my Goodreads reading challenge, and it's only March, plus I have a lower total than last year! I can't risk any absorbing TV ;)

    1. Hi Ceri! I know...I'm going to have to use my self-control and stop watching The Gilmore Girls! LOL! I'm behind on my Goodreads reading challenge too, and I still haven't written my review for Green Card! So bad! Spring Break is coming up and I'm hoping to catch up then.

I hope you enjoy The Darcy Madness! :)

  3. As you already know I am a HUGE Gilmore Girls fan. I have the whole series on DVD! I'm so glad you are enjoying it!! I have been reading What the Lady Wants by Renee Rosen and I'm not really enjoying it. It's not bad, it's just I didn't connect with the characters and the story just keeps dragging on. A few weeks ago I finished Me Before You by Jojo Moyes and I absolutely loved it. I have been talking about it ever since. Have you read it?

    1. Hi Kelli! No, I haven't read "Me Before You". Is it sad? Reading the book blurb, it seems sad.

Oh, I'm loving The Gilmore Girls! I'm on season 3 now. I really need to get back to reading though, I'm falling very far behind. Spring Break is coming up, and I hope to catch up then! =) Can't wait!

    2. Oh, it's sad but so GOOD. I can't remember the last time a book has made such an impression on me. It will make you laugh, cry and think. And she wrote a sequel to the story that will be out in September. I can't wait!

The writing for Gilmore Girls is fabulous. I want to be as quick with my responses as Lorelai and Rory. I love their relationship and I wish I lived in Stars Hollow!!:)
