What are you Reading?  Let me know what your current read is, what you recently finished reading, and what you plan on reading next!

Happy Wednesday, friends! I didn't have any changes last week, so I didn't post. :/

Here's my list:

I'm currently reading The Rain by Gregg Hurwitz. It's okay, but I'm not very far into it at this point. I hope it picks up though.

I recently finished reading The Annotated Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and David M. Shapard. Hurray! It was excellent, and I enjoyed getting a closer look at Pride and Prejudice. It definitely added to my understanding of, for instance, how an entail works. 5 stars!

What's next? I'm not sure, but I am looking forward to reading Tell Me Everything by Sarah Enni. I picked up this book last week while I was volunteering at the Scholastic Warehouse. I also met the author at the LA Festival of Books! I wish I had her book then so she could have signed it!

What are you Reading?  Let me know what your current read is, what you recently finished reading, and what you plan on reading next!

Happy Wednesday, friends!

Here's my list:

Currently Reading:

I'm slowly reading The Annotated Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and David M. Shapard. So much good stuff in here!

Recently Finished:

I finished reading Alive (Sundown Series Book 3) by Courtney Konstantin. I loved it! This third book explains how the virus that turns people into zombies started. I certainly hope there will be a fourth book. I would like to know more about what happens to the Duncans and if a cure is discovered!

What's next?

I'm not sure, but I picked up a new book at the LA Times Festival of Books that I'm excited to read called Brightly Burning by Alexa Donne. It's a Jane Eyre retelling set in space!

What Are You Reading? ~ April 10, 2019

What are you Reading?  Let me know what your current read is, what you recently finished reading, and what you plan on reading next!

Happy Wednesday, friends! It's been a better reading week for me. How about you?

Here's my list:

Current Read:

Last week I started reading the first book in the Sundown Series by Courtney Konstantin, and really got into it! So, I'm just starting the third book, Alive! Hopefully, it's as good as the first two!

These books all start at approximately at the same time; at the beginning of the plague that turns people into zombies. Each book is from the POV of adult siblings who were raised by a doomsday prepper. Each very equipped to handle such an occasion, thanks to their dad.

Recently Finished:

I finished reading Survive (Sundown Series Book 2) by Courtney Konstantin. This is Max Duncan's story. She and her daughter are trying to make it to their family compound in Montana. In this book you learn a little bit more about what's going on with the government and the zombies. A fast-paced story!

I also finished Prepared (Sundown Series Book 1) by Courtney Konstantin. I loved it! This is Alex Duncan's story of how she uses all the survival skills her crazy dad taught her to get her and her two kids to the family compound.

What's next?

I'm not sure. I think I'm going to have to read something not quite so tense! Lol! I'll probably just finish reading The Annotated Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and David M. Shapard for this months reading group meeting.

What Are You Reading? ~ April 3, 2019

What are you Reading?  Let me know what your current read is, what you recently finished reading, and what you plan on reading next!

Happy Wednesday, my friends! How has your week been treating you? My week's flown by, as usual!

Here's my list:

Currently Reading:

I'm reading Prepared (Sundown Series #1) by Courtney Konstantin. It's exciting! But I guess I didn't read the book blurb very carefully (I must have read only the first sentence! Lol) because I didn't realize this was a zombie/apocalypse story! I love apocalyptic stories, but I could do without the zombies! It's still really good! :) This is Courtney Konstantin's debut novel.

I've also read some more in The Annotated Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and David M. Shapard. I'm trying to read a couple chapters a day. Some of Shapard's remarks are so interesting.

Recently Finished:

I finished Before I Let Go by Marieke Nijkamp. This was a strange, sad, and mystical (or maybe magical, or a little of both??) story. It dealt with bipolar disorder, suicide, grief, and a strange town. 3 stars.

What's next?

I think I'm going to read The Final Six by Alexandra Monir, or I might read the second in the Sundown series. I'll let you know next week!

What Are You Reading? ~ Nov. 14, 2018

What are you Reading?  Let me know what your current read is, what you recently finished reading, and what you plan on reading next!

Hello, friends! It's been another busy week for me. Not as much reading going on as I would like, but I'm also working on a crochet project. :)

Here's my list:

I'm currently reading Unwrapping Mr. Darcy by L.L. Diamond. I'm only a couple of chapters in but it's already fun!

I'm also reading Emma by Jane Austen. I've only listened to about 4 chapters, and we are supposed to discuss the first half this Saturday. Yikes! I don't think I'm going to make it!

I recently finished reading Only the Dead Don't Die by A.D. Popovich. I loved it! Only the story is not over, and you have to read the next in the series. Of course, I bought it, but it looks like there may be a third that's not out yet. :(  I hate waiting...

What's next? I'm not sure. I think I'm going to pull something off my shelves. I have two challenges I still need to complete before the end of the year. So, we'll see! :)

What are you reading? Let me know what your current read is, what you recently finished reading, and what you plan on reading next!

Hey, friends! I hope you've had a great week! It seems like I'm getting this out later and later in the day! Ugh! I've had a busy couple of days! But, it's all good!

Here's my list:

I'm currently reading Only the Dead Don't Die by A.D. Popovich. I'm loving it! It's a post-apocalyptic/zombie story. It's a little out there, but it could happen, right? ;) You've got to be prepared! Lol! Just kidding! I'm usually not into zombie stories, but I love post-apocalyptic story, and I'm enjoying this one. :)

I recently finished reading Twisted Up by Erin Nicholas. This contemporary romance was a good fun read. Natural disasters keep throwing this Avery and Jake together. 4 stars. Also, it is for mature readers.

What's next? I want to start Unwrapping Mr. Darcy by L.L. Diamond. I'm reviewing this for a blog tour coming up at the end of November. So, I need to get started on it! Looks cute!

I also need to start reading Emma by Jane Austen for the JASNA reading group I'm in. I bought this on Audible so I can listen to it.

What Are You Reading? ~ Oct. 31, 2018

What are you Reading?  Let me know what your current read is, what you recently finish reading, and what you plan on reading next!

Happy Halloween, my friends! I have a few ghoulish books listed below if you are in need for a Halloween read!! :)

Here's my list:

I'm currently reading Only the Dead Don't Die by A.D. Popovich. A Post-apocalyptic plus zombies story adds up to a great read for Halloween! Needless to say, I'm enjoying it!

I'm also reading Twisted Up by Erin Nicholas. I started reading this for a lighter read while my company was here. Plus, I have this on Audible so I can listen to it while I walk the dog and fold the clothes. I'm enjoying this one too!

I recently finished Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. I was surprised by how much I liked this story! It was nothing like what I thought it was going to be. I had all the movie versions in my head, but the creature is very intelligent! ~ 4 stars

What's next? I think I might read Pride and Prometheus by John Kessel, a Pride & Prejudice/Frankenstein mash-up! Or I may save it for next year!
