W... W... W... Wednesdays ~ Nov. 12, 2014

W... W... W... Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB of Should be Reading. To play along, just answer the following questions.

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you'll read next?

What am I currently reading? I'm currently reading Holidays with Jane: Christmas Cheer by a host of my favorite authors, Jennifer Becton, Jessica Grey, Cecilia Gray, Melissa Buell, Kimberly Truesdale and Rebecca M. Fleming (many of you know Rebecca as @RivkaBelle)! Together they have put together a collection of Austenesque short Christmas Stories! A perfect read for this busy Christmas season!!

What did I recently finish reading? I finished reading The Heart of Christmas (Whiskey Creek Book 7) by Brenda Novak. It was really good! It was a cute, quick read! I should have a review up soon.

I also read Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen. I enjoyed this one, too. It's the first book I've read of Ms. Dessen, and I'm sure it won't be the last. We had a long weekend here, and I spent one day just reading! It was a lovely day! :)

What do I think I'll read next? I'm not sure. I have a couple of books in mind... I let you know next week.

  1. Oh my gosh, I *love* Sarah Dessen! I think my all-time favorite is "The Truth About Forever," but I've read (and enjoyed) almost everything she's ever written! :o) I'm glad you have discovered her, and hope you get to read more ...

    1. Hi Rebecca! I am so excited about reading your story in "Holidays with Jane"!! I'm such an order person, I'm reading the first one first, which is Jennifer's. LOL! But, hey, that's not a bad thing! She's wonderful too!

Ooh, I'll have to get "The Truth About Forever"! I have "What Happened to Goodbye" of Dessen to read next. :)

    2. "What Happened to Goodbye" is also good ... "Along for the Ride" and "This Lullaby" are also amazing. Oh, and "The Moon and More"! Okay, so basically I think I've loved everything I've read (there are only two? of the older ones I haven't) ...

Reading "Holidays with Jane" in order is not a bad thing ;o) I do the same thing with anthologies/story collections ... I love to start with page 1 and just go ... hehe

    3. Good to know! I sometimes volunteer at the Scholastic Warehouse, and get paid in books - that's where I got the first two I have now. I'll keep my eye out for the one's you've mentioned! Thanks!

Congratulations on your story in "Holidays with Jane"! Yay!

  2. Looking forward to reading your review of Holidays with Jane, Candy! I *love* short stories. I think they can easily reveal a writer's strengths or weaknesses. I have read Becton's ss, but I am eager to read Rebecca's and Kimberley's too! Their premises sound the most interesting to me.
Hope you enjoy Brenda's book too! I do so love Christmas reads. :)

    1. Hi Jakki! So far "Holidays with Jane" is fantastic! I started reading it last night.
Brenda's book was really good! I don't think I've ever read any of her books before, but I hope to read more of her's too. Especially more of The Whiskey Creek series.

  5. I recently finished Joy Dawn King's A Father's Sins - it was pretty good, definitely action packed. I also read a 5 author anthology called The Heart of a Duke, which I won from a blog giveaway earlier in the year. It was also very good. Do people really read anthology chapters out of order? Not that there's anything wrong with that, it just honestly never occurred to me to do it! Lol

I'm currently reading a novella, Her Christmas Earl, but I'm only a few pages into it. Next up will be The Falmouth Connection and Holidays with Jane, I believe.

I've never read Sarah Dessen but I know I have at least one of her books on my kindle.

    1. Hey Monica! Oh, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed "A Father's Sins", and it's the first time I've heard it was action packed! I like that!

Lol! No, it doesn't feel natural to skip around a book! ;) You're going to love "Holidays with Jane"! I am!

I think you should give Dessen a go. You might like her too. :)
