What Are You Reading? ~ January 25, 2017

What are you Reading?  Let me know what your current read is, what you recently finish reading, and what you plan on reading next!

Here's my list:

I'm currently reading Undeceived by Karen M. Cox. I'm not that far into it. I think it's going to be good, but it hasn't grabbed me yet.

No progress on An Inconvenient Ward by Audrey Harrison or A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin.

I recently finished Unwind by Neal Shusterman. I had mixed feelings about this one. It was well-written and fast-paced, and I like the characters, but it was also a bit morbid. I couldn't wrap my head around the concept of unwinding kids (basically harvesting them) for their body parts. Unwind is the first of four books in the series, but I don't think I'm going to read the rest.

What's next? I think I'm going to finish An Inconvenient Ward before moving on to anything else. :)

  1. I didn't end up reading the rest of the Unwind series, either, as I felt that the first book wrapped up everything it needed to and there was no need. I remember enjoying it but I agree, it was very morbid and kind of hard to get your head around in parts.

    1. Hi, Emily! Right?! - Yeah, I don't feel the need to finish the series either.

Thanks for stopping by! I stopped by your post earlier. :) Happy reading!

  2. When my husband told me about Unwind, I had trouble figuring out why you would write a book like that for teens. Glad I'm not the only one. Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday!

    1. Hi, Sam! Yeah, I thought that about Hungry Games too (kids having to kill each other in a game), but after reading it, I loved the story! So, I thought I might feel the same about Unwind, but it's not the same. Lol! I didn't buy it (well, technically I did), it was part of a Quarterly YA book box subscription. Thanks for stopping by!! Happy reading!

  3. Oh yeah, that Unwind sounds chilling. Don't blame you there.

Hopefully Undeceived will end up grabbing you. I just read Cat Gardiner's Without a Conscience which is similar.

I'm starting a thriller now, Every Dark Corner by Karen Rose.
