W... W... W... Wednesday ~ May 29, 2013

W... W... W... Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB of Should be Reading. To play along, just answer the following questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you'll read next?

What am I currently reading? I just started Pirates and Prejudice by Kara Louise! I'm so excited about this story! Darcy a pirate! Yummy! I love this cover too! Kara Louise is one of the first Pride and Prejudice variation authors that I read! Her book, Pemberley's Promise (Darcy's Voyage) is one of my favorite reads!

What did I recently finish reading? I finished reading Always the Baker, Finally the Bride by Sandra D. Bricker. It was really good. You can read my review here

I also finished reading Rosings. My review will be up on Monday. I did have some issues with it.

What do I think I'll be reading next? Either, Lady Harriette by P.O. Dixon (This book is due to be released on June 1) or
The Rules of Engagement by Jillian Leigh. I also have A Fair Prospect: Darcy's Dilemma by Cassandra Grafton. Which I want to read, but I'm kinda waiting for Vol 3 to come out, because I hear there is a nice cliff hanger at the end of Darcy's Dilemma.

What are you reading?

  1. Hey Candy! I just finished a book yesterday. It was one that I won, by Abbi Glines in the YA genre, called 'Because of Low'. It was ok, would be nice sunlounger reading but I like a bit more substance to a book, I felt like there were opportunities missed for character development and a few bits which I thought were unrealistic. Very readable style though, zoomed through it.

So I am in the brief period between books at the minute. I intend to start on Maria Grace's trilogy next as I have all 3 parts of it waiting for me but who knows what I'll end up reading next, I get sidetracked!

I saw that you were reading Rosings, I will be interested to see your review of that. I haven't rushed to get it because I wasn't really sure about the previous book re Charlotte (by the way, is this a follow on to the Charlotte book, or follow on to P&P?)

    1. Hi Ceri! Yes, 'Rosings' is a continuation of Charlotte. I thought it would be fun to see into Anne's life, unfortunately I wasn't feeling it with this story. :/

I hope you like Maria Grace's books! Happy Reading!

  2. Let's see..I think my WWW is the same as last week. I finished The Mysterious Death of Mr Darcy and it is a doozie! lol I was like omg so many crazy people. I'll hopefully have a review up this weekend on GR & Amazon.

Next I want to read Bluebells in the Mourning and after that - who knows! I have so much to choose from. I want to read Jillian Kent's Secrets of the Heart. I met her at the Ohioana book festival in Columbus and she was very nice.

  3. Let's see. I just finished Between Friends (will have my review up next week sometime...I think) Now I am working on Cynthia Hensley's new book, The Heart does Whisper. (It is SO good). Next? I might try to squeeze in another fun summer read before I have to start my next edits.
The Rules of Engagement sounds pretty good.

    1. Hi Stacy Renee! Yes!! Pirates are awesome! :) I don't know if you can call this a mashup. Darcy is mistaken to be the Pirate Lockerly, then force to impersonate him. It's a nice spin to this P&P variation! I'm really enjoying it!

      Thanks for stopping by!
