- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you'll be reading next?
Due to illness and the Bloggiesta I didn't get any reading done this week. So, my answers are pretty much going to be the same. Except the last, that will be different. :)
What am I currently reading? I am still reading The Vagabond Vicar by Charlotte Brentwood. So far it's very good!
What do I think I'll be reading next? Next I should read The Secret of Pembrooke Park by Julie Klassen. This one looks really good! I am looking forward to reading it. I was hoping to break up the two Regency's with something different, but as I have a deadline to review this book, I thought I'd better get to it!
What are you reading? I'd love to hear!
Hiya, CandyMo!
ReplyDeleteI like your WWW. I know I have Katie McGarry and Julie Klassen books on my kindle, I just have to read them. So little time, ya know ;)
I just finished reading Rose Fairbanks's Letters from the Heart. I thought it was just ok, definitely not my favorite by her. I started reading Maledicte by Lane Robins, which was a library sale find of mine years ago - but after just the prologue I felt like it was nuch darker than I'm in the mood for right now. So I'll have to try it again later. I'm not reading anything yet but next will be Colin Odom's Pride, Prejudice and Secrets. I also want to read Jane Austen's Emma, as I've never read it (I know!) and I believe this is the bicentennial year.
Hey Monica! Thanks! I was kinda bummed when the other WWW went away, but now I don't have to worry about it. :)
DeleteLOL! I have to agree with Joy here! I'm surprised you haven't read Emma yet! I hope you enjoy it! :D I've not heard of Maledicte. I'll have to check it out. Ooh! I hope you like P,P & Secrets! I would like to read that, too. But, yeah, I just have so little time... hehe!
What! You have never read Emma, Monica? I am so shocked that I'm having trouble catching my breath. Stunned! I am stunned.
ReplyDeleteI just finished the 3rd installment of Barbara Silkstone's novellas about Derby and Squire (Darcy's dogs). I'm trying to get through Mr. Darcy and the Lady With the Fine Eyes by G. Mason. I'm really struggling with this. Too much modern language for it being a Regency and I don't know if I like where it is going. I pick up Sue Wilkes' Jane Austen's England every once in a while and am thoroughly enjoying all that I am learning. I finished rereading Monica Fairview's two book series this morning and Jane Austen: Cover to Cover by Margaret Sullivan. That book is STUNNING!!!! I wished that I hadn't read it so I could pick it up again for the first time. Amazing! What's coming up is An Unpleasant Walk by Rafe Carlson and A Tapestry of Lives by Jean Sims. Too many sick days, but I'm getting more reading than writing done. Frustrating, but true.
Hope you are feeling better, Candy. Ok. Now, I'm breathing normally again, Monica.
Hi Joy! I am feeling better. Thank you! I've not heard of Barbara's novellas, but I'm not big on dogs stories. I've read all of Kara Louise's books except Master Under Good Regulation. It's P&P told from Darcy's dog's POV. I just can't do it, and I love Kara's stories! (Oh, I haven't read Pemberley Celebrations either.) I haven't heard of G. Mason's book either. Oh! I'll have to check out Jane Austen: Cover to Cover! Sad to say, I don't know about this one either. Thanks, Joy, for introducing me to all these books! That's what this post is all about! :)
DeleteI read Barbara Silkstone's 2nd book and she is posting the 3rd on Beyond Austen right now (though I think it just got published) - they're short and cute, very humorous. I actually didn't read the first one, which is odd for me. I started to, and I thought that Lizzy seemed like a bit of a witch, so I didn't read more. BUT now that I read the 2nd and am more familiar with Barbara's sense of humor, I'll eventually go back & read the 1st. (I'm feeling so chatty today! lol) It's not really about the dogs so much as Lizzy being a dog psychologist.
ReplyDeleteI loved Master Under Good Regulation! Pemberley Celebrations was just ok for me. It was a little too fluffy, in a way. I haven't read any of the other books that Joy mentioned except An Unpleasant Walk. I read it online years ago. All I will say is that I'm so glad she didn't name the Colonel Richard.
