The Twisted Road to You is the fourth book in the Perfect, Indiana series. I have not read the first three, but I understood that each book stood on its own, and it did! I enjoyed the story so much, and I didn’t feel a bit lost or confused!

When I read the book blurb for this story, it intrigued me. I've also read True to the Highlander by Ms. Longley and knew I liked her writing style. So when the opportunity to read The Twisted Road to You was offered to me, I took it!

Wesley is an ex-Marine suffering from PTSD. He's also carrying around some emotional scars his ex-wife gave him when she cheated on him and then divorced him while he was serving his country.

Carlie, a single mom, also carries many physical and emotional scars. Her ex-husband, Jared, was very abusive. She changed her name and moved to Perfect, Indiana trying to have a normal life for her and her son.

Both keep to themselves; neither feels they could ever love again. But when Jared escapes from jail and shows up in Perfect, threatening to kill Carlie and take her son. Wesley cannot stand idly by, and his military training takes over. Protecting Carlie forces them to spend a lot of time together, and now it’s harder to suppress the feelings they both have been feeling for each other!

I loved how the story jumps right into the action, and how Wesley and Carlie's back-stories are woven neatly into the storyline. Oh, and I loved the sexual tension between the two!

I also enjoyed Wesley’s friends and family in the story. They all rallied together to help protect Carlie and her son. Now, that I’ve met them, I’m curious to see their stories. Hopefully, I’ll have a chance to go back to the beginning and read the first three stories!

The Twisted Road to You is an enjoyable read!
