Guest Posting and Giveaway!

Today I'm doing something a little different, I'm over at Darcyholic Diversions but I'm not posting a review, instead I'm talking about me! I've posted about how I came to be a Darcyholic and why I started my blog. You can read that article, titled:

To Have a Man Like Darcy Love You... here.

Don't you love that title?! That was Barb's doing, my words but Barb thought to use them as a title! I love it!

On my blog I'm having a giveaway, just to make the day different all around! I'm giving away a
$25 amazon gift card!

To enter win, all you have to do is one of the following:

  1. I have to laugh at your blog title, "so little time... so much to read!" Very true! Yet we all must listen to Mr. Darcy's admonishment, to seek "the improvement of her mind by extensive reading." Glad you are reading and reviewing.

  5. Candy, what a lovely article! What do you mean you can't write? I think you did a splendid job. It isn't easy to be vulnerable and real.

And since others have shared quotations, here's one that I give to my students.

"A writer is a person for whom writing is more difficult than it is for other people."
    Thomas Mann (1875 - 1955)

I follow you on Twitter, and I would already be tweeting/retweeting about this article anyway, you know, just because. But, my, what a prize! Thanks for the opportunity to win!

    1. Thanks, Laura! Besides the fact I had trouble writing complete sentences, putting my thoughts out there was terrifying! :)

Another great quote! It's probably very true. It always looks like other people have it easier.

  8. Although I am on team Colin, I do loved reading about your transition from non-reader to reviewer and blogger. Yes, Darcy is certainly a man to admire. I love reading fan fiction and seeing all the slight variations in his character. As I get older the "so little time" issue becomes greater and greater and I no longer reread books as I used to. But Austen is an exception. I love her men!

    1. I used to reread books often, but my TBR list is so long now I feel like I will never see the bottom! :) Oh yes! I love Austen's men too!

Darcy is my favorite Austen man, but I like Col. Fitzwilliam, Edward Farrars, Captain Wentworth, and Colonel Brandon, too.

  13. What a wonderful giveaway - thanks Candy! I'm actually on a PC rather than my phone, for a change, and I have to say I love the background picture on your blog.

I enjoyed your Darcyholic post. To have a Mr Darcy love you would be something, indeed! I have a soft spot for Colonel Fitzwilliam, too.

  25. not being ambitious enough to write reviews, I began tracking what I had read on a list in Word and then on a spreadsheet. I would be completely lost without it! After reading all of your reviews here I see we have much the same taste in books. Isn't it wonderful to have so much available to enjoy!

Please enter me in your drawing. $25 would definitely help to knock down my Amazon wish list!

    1. Hi GranJan! Oh, yes! So wonderful having so much available! Although, I can't keep up!! lol! I know of a few people that keep spreadsheets to keep track of their books. I think that's a great idea!

  26. Hey, Candy. Nice knowing you over at Darcyholic Diversions. I can say that what you posted there sounds a lot like me. I'm a slow reader cos I take my time reading through all the tiny details and remember them when I want to write a review. Most of the time I have trouble conveying what I feel to paper until the right words are found.
