W... W... W... Wednesdays

W... W... W... Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB of Should be Reading. To play along, just answer the following questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you'll read next?

What am I currently-reading?  Currently I'm in between books. I need to work on some reviews. I hope to start reading tonight, Scorned Justice by Margaret Daley.

What did I recently finish reading? I just finished reading When They Fall in Love by Mary Lydon Simonsen. It was like taking a tour of Italy along with Darcy and Elizabeth!

What do I think I'll be reading next? I think I'll be reading A Fair Prospect: Disappointed Hopes by Cassandra Grafton.

What are you reading?

  1. I'm currently reading The Passions of Dr Darcy.

The last book I read was A Most Civil Proposal, which I really enjoyed.

Next I will read The Mysterious Death of Mr Darcy, for sure. I also want to read Kimberly Truesdale's The Wrong Woman. And maybe I can find something non-Austenesque.

    1. Monica, those are all great books! I don't have The Passions of Dr Darcy, but I do have The Mysterious Death of Mr. Darcy. I also want to read The Wrong Woman, it sounds good. I've decided I'm going to start penciling in the books I want to read on my calender, so I can read them! ;) I'm not complaining about getting books for review (love that!), but I find I don't get a chance to read what's on my TBR list. I'm looking forward to summer break, and maybe then I can read more than one book a week! Yippie! :)

  2. Well I still haven't strictly given up on Death Comes to Pemberley but I treated myself to some austen-inspired fiction, "Only Mr Darcy Will Do" by Kara Louise and I gobbled it up in a single sitting! Very much enjoyed it. I felt at first that it could have done with some angst, but on reflection I think that's because so much JAFF has angst that I am beginning to expect it!

I am not sure what I'll read next, I have so much to choose from.

    1. Ceri, I did read your review for "Only Mr. Darcy Will Do" on goodreads - great review btw! I enjoyed that one myself. Although, my favorite of Kara Louise's is "Pemberley's Promise" ("Darcy's Voyage"). It's been a long time since I've read it. I use to reread it all the time. That was before my kindle and so many Austenesque books became available.

Haha, you are determined to finish Death Comes to Pemberley. Good for you! :)

    2. Thank you! I have been getting to grips with Goodreads finally, although it's very time consuming, you find yourself window shopping for books instead of reading them.

I have that book on my wishlist with a big load of other stuff so hopefully I'll get to it at some point.

    3. I hope you enjoy A Fair Prospect. It sounds like a great book.
I am currently reading Lady Harriette by P O Dixon. (Don't hate me, Ceri) ;)

I am so glad you enjoyed Only Mr. Darcy Will Do, Ceri! I have devoured everything by Kara Louise I have read. Have you read Darcy's Voyage? That is my favorite by her.

    4. The only other Kara Louise book I've read is Assumed Engagement, and I wasn't keeping notes then so I can only vaguely remember what I thought of it but I can recall some of the plot and I'm pretty sure I enjoyed it.

I will be interested to see what you think of the new Lady Harriette book, I will keep my fingers crossed that she gets taken down a peg or two! I enjoyed WHWND despite Lady H but I'm not sure I would fancy a whole book about her.

  3. I loved Kara Louise's Pemberley's Promise - it's been on my bookshelf in its original form and I often re-read it.

I've tried several times, but I just can't get into Death Comes to Pemberley.

I am currently reading Austensibly Ordinary by Alyssa Goodnight.

I recently finished Georgette Heyer's Bath Tangle (not necessarily the same genre pre se, but it was to keep a Regency voice in my head!)

I think I will next be reading Mr Darcy Came to Dinner by Jack Caldwell.

    1. Hi Cassandra! I have both Pemberley's Promise and Darcy's Voyage on my shelf! I had to buy Darcy's Voyage when I saw Kara Louise at a book signing! I had to have an autographed copy! :D

I haven't read any of the others on your list - would like to though! I've read Austentatious by Alyssa Goodnight, and loved it!
